thanksgiving trip to Orange County and back in 72 hours flat. nice to be back home in San Francisco.

was thinking of my grandfather on this Armistice Day and took out his medals. he said that his mother asked him to get some ice cream for his sister’s birthday party one day and he thought that was too much. he walked out the door and down to the recruitment office. he stated he was 18 when he was actually 16 and went to Europe. don’t know much about what happened to him there outside of these medals, but he later came home and worked in the VA for the rest of his life, volunteered again for WWII, and was an all-around southern (North Carolina) character who loved to tell outlandish stories.
