paperwerk – logo files

it is just a checklist i made for myself to keep track of the final logo files i generate for my clients.

i’ve been curious about how designer’s either guard their process papers or don’t have any. i’m obsessed by process and interested in treating these items more like open source software than corporate secrets.

3 Inch Gothic

crass original drafting, tired / dull dies (when cut in ’65), and years of use (by me and my mother) make these paper stencils odd beasts.

i’m trying to retain that odd repetition of distorted forms in redrawing them (and adding a lowercase, accents, etc).
wonder if FF WaterTower was inspired by these.

bottomless man

woke up to see a man without pants (or underwear) walk past our office, down the alley and into the back garden. the officer drawing his pistol next to me woke me up more than any caffeine could.

goodbye

after 36 years, i had my first medical procedure to remove two of my wisdom teeth. they hadn’t been with me my whole life, but it was a first for so many things that it felt like something larger had been removed.

during the 14+ years of working under the name elbow, i usually just stumble into something for my own identity.
